For want of a microphone this guy was recorded himself. I wonder sometimes how some of these people would feel if they encountered this site years later and got a chance to hear themselves. Would they be embarassed, or would they write me email and call me a shithead?

We’ve all seen pictures of old Macs turned into fishbowls, but those people were done with their comptuers. This guy, long before the advent of case modders, took a saw to his Macintosh, and then called tech support to ask for help. If he had only electrocuted himself he would have been a perfect candidate for the Darwin Awards!

I think this is the only one of these where I really do feel sorry for the person calling tech support. I feel sorry for the guy at Apple too. I’ve had to help people who are this emptionally wrapped up in their problem and you not only have to deal with their lack of technical skill, you have to coax them through every step because their emotional state has shaved ten years off their intelligence.
